1. There is a fad on the rise in Europe called “chess boxing.”
Players alternate between chess and boxing rounds. After 4 minutes of chess is played, they remove the board from the ring, put their gloves on and start a 3 min round of boxing.  A win may be achieved by knockout in the boxing match, checkmate, time-forfeit, or by points if the chess match ends in a draw.
They even have their own organization known as the WCBO (World Chess Boxing Organization).

  5. I just finished reading Catching Fire, and it’s excellent. The basic premise is that if your name is drawn, you have to compete in a Survivor type thing, but the only way to win is to kill all the others. Its terrible to see what happens to human nature when put into that kind of situation. I have no idea what I’d do, but I’d like to think that I would never to take anyone else’s life to save my own.
